Serving students primarily from Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), St. Mark’s welcomes all Milwaukee area college students to find their church home with us. We actively seek to form opportunities for college students to gather and worship together.

Canterbury Fellowship (Marquette University)

During the school year, we have three mainstays at Canterbury Fellowship, and we invite all students and faculty to attend:

  • On Mondays through Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m., we host Evening Prayer at the historic Joan of Arc Chapel on the Marquette University Campus.
  • Once a month, in lieu of Evening Prayer on Wednesday, we celebrate Eucharist at the same time and place (4:30 p.m. in the Joan of Arc Chapel).
  • Each Wednesday, after Evening Prayer or Eucharist, we offer a fellowship time to share refreshments and build community with one another.

We also have a few additional events throughout the year like a Christmas and end-of-semester party in December, a Tenebrae service on the Wednesday of Holy Week, and an end-of-year party in May. We also enjoy celebrating ecumenical services with the Office of Campus Ministry at Marquette, including Blessing of the Animals (for the Feast of St. Francis), Prayer Service for Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (in January), and an Ash Wednesday Liturgy. In August 2024, we will post our complete dates for the fall semester. And if you’re a Facebook person, feel free to follow our (limited!) activity there.

Corner House (UWM)

We enjoy a thriving partnership with our friends in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) at UWM, who have a beautiful campus ministry called The Corner House under the direction of Pastor Rachel Young Binter. Our rhythm is to join and support their worship and community meal that follows monthly.
