Thursdays—Lenten Program with Bishop Miller, February 25-March 25 at 7pm

Bishop Miller has invited members of St. Mark's to join with parishioners at All Saints' Cathedral and St. Paul's Episcopal Church for a series of Thursday evening programs on the topic An Intentional Walk of Discipleship.  The Bishop will focus on scripture study, meditation, and daily prayer.  For the last two sessions, David Drebert, Acting Dean at the Cathedral, and Steve Teague, Rector of St. Paul's, will lead programs on the practices of centering prayer and praying with the Anglican rosary. This is an excellent opportunity for St. Mark's to join in conversation with our Bishop and neighboring Episcopalians as we reflect on how to follow God's call more faithfully.

Each Thursday night session begins at 7pm.  Participants are welcome to join the Cathedral community for Holy Eucharist at 5:30pm on Thursdays, followed by a potluck dinner at 6pm.

Creative Contemplation on the Way of the Cross, March 6, 8:30am-12:30pm

Appropriate for adults and children middle-school-aged and older, participants in the Lenten Quiet Day will spend time learning about the stations of the cross and the role that they have played in Christian devotion.  After spending some time reflecting on Scripture and walking the stations of the cross, we will lend our creative efforts to constructing a set of stations to be used at St. Mark’s during the remaining weeks of Lent using drawing, fiber, collage, and the written world.  Art supplies will be provided, but please feel free to bring some from home if there’s a particular medium you enjoy working with.  If you are planning on attending, please register using the sign-up sheet in the Guild Hall.  $10 covers breakfast, snacks and program supplies.  To request scholarship assistance, contact Pastor April.
