Children’s Chapel
Our children gather first at 9:15 for a short, child-friendly service that incorporates song, discussion, and prayer, in a consistent format. Parents may join their children during this service.
Sunday School
We offer Sunday School programming for ages preschool through grade 7. Throughout the school year, our Sunday School meets during the first half of the 9:30 service, ending in time for the children to join their parents at communion. The children gather in our bright and spacious classrooms on the second floor. Children are always welcome to join with their families at any service at St. Mark’s. We welcome visitors!
In our baptismal covenant we are asked, "Will you continue in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers?" And we respond, or our sponsors reply on our behalf, "I will, with God’s help."
We offer many opportunities for Christian Formation at St. Mark's for children, youth and adult members of the congregation.
During the Academic Year
Children’s Formation
Mark’s Bistro
We gather together on Wednesday evenings for food, fellowship and formation - apart from our Sunday worship. The fun begins with a low-cost ($7), simple super served at 5:45 p.m. The program then begins at 6:30 p.m.
The material varies throughout the year. Past offerings have included the discussions of current books, programs to discern spiritual gifts, the examination of basic Christian doctrine and practices, and the study of Anglican church history and theology.
Childcare is available.
Men’s Fellowship Group
This group of men meet in St. Mark’s kitchen on the third Saturday morning of every month to laugh, feast, and pray.
Women’s Book Club
This group meets and discusses books related to religious and spiritual issues.
Education for Ministry
EFM provides a comprehensive, four-year experiential education in the foundations and message of our Christian faith. It is for laity who want to continue their spiritual formation. It teaches you to think theologically and deepens your faith and understanding of our Christian heritage. EFM meets in small groups, once per week, for two academic semesters each year on Wednesday evenings at 6:15 p.m. A study guide is provided for each participant.
